I dunno who needs to hear it, but the LIDAR on iOS devices (handheld at least) is not accurate enough to try to measure 1-3mm variations on a floor.

That said, I learnt some cool stuff you can do with it. You can use SiteScape (freemium) to capture a point cloud, exportable as a E57 file, which can be loaded into CloudCompare (free) and you can run analysis tools on the point cloud, including building a height map and measuring roughness.

@simon you could probably make one with IKEA's power outlet and their motion sensor, my understanding is they support binding the motion sensor directly to their other devices

Does anybody have any experiences with using Apple's in-app subscriptions for an AppKit app? I understand that third party frameworks like RevenueCat are unavailable.. so how hard is it to implement yourself and how much hassle is it day-to-day release-to-release?

Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

    @decryption The Shelly Plus 1 has a separate terminal for its power source and the switchable relay, see https://kb.shelly.cloud/knowledge-base/shelly-plus-1#ShellyPlus1(SNSW-001X16EU)-Basicwiringdiagrams

    Oddly enough, it doesn't specify 24V AC but I don't see why it wouldn't work considering it's a relay

    I expect Apple to heavily leverage the Accessibility API in apps to have Siri automatically drive applications for users. I would’ve loved to have the time to have a crack at this, but I doubt they’d allow any third party apps to do this on iOS.
