I guess my position is AI apathetic for the current generation offered of large language models.

It really doesn't actually change much and much of what is provided is a fun party trick. At best its inspirational and the most interesting content I've seen that involves AI still has a human involved in the process past the writing the prompt.

Weird and mixed on stackoverflow.

I actually don't mind that data being trained on but im apprehensive on actually wanting AI generated answers being provided.

I don't go to stackoverflow to get answers from an AI. I'd ask chatGPT if I wanted that.

Its similar to my feelings on Quora. It feels like it was implied I didn't care for what an AIs answer was when I went to user generated answer website. I could just ask an AI if I wanted an AI generated answer.

On one hand I feel like actually changing your answer to prior questions is a weird flex on resisting/protesting AI since your answer was already used and sold to others, you're just making the website worse to actually search for answers. On the other hand I wonder if how stackoverflow is handling this violates safe harbor requirements similar to the recent twitter court case. They want all the ability to own user content with none of the liability of owning that content.

I feel like actual protest is to just stop providing answers in general. But that not visible. Even better protest is to provide answers on various forums and discord groups but that's also not very visible.

Non-eventful birthday

Diner shorted me some pancakes but we were charged for it so IDC.

Surprisingly healthy family conversations and my grandma was significantly more lively than she's been in a long while. I said id stream with a friend and then didn't.

Saw that Prusaslicer lets me export gcode as an .OBJ file so i can make a blender render of that vase I made my mom. I wanna do a turn around.
