Am I being facetious, or is it weird that the camera section of the iPad somehow doesn't count towards the thickness?

One thing I've never managed to use properly on the iPhone is Face ID. It's always been good at recognising my face and then unlocking the device. Although it's never been as fast as what I've seen others experience.

But I swear I'm always needing to enter my passcode. I get the “you need to use your passcode to unlock Face ID" message multiple times throughout most days. And I'm starting to think that I'm doing something wrong?

If I ever switch away from using an iPhone, it would cause a massive cascading
effect on nearly every part of my digital (and some physical) life.

Simply because, if I could ever bring myself to break out of Apple's walled
garden, I would want to steer clear of anything similar. I wouldn't want to just
replace everything Apple with everything Google, for example.

Starting to really like the feel of my Mac. Latest addition was SketchyBar (https://felixkratz.github.io/SketchyBar/) which I'm sure I'll start to customise, but the fact it shows me my current workspace number is already super useful for me.

I think my Mac is becoming more and more “linux inspired” by the day. I’ve got yabai installed as my tiled window manager, alacritty as my terminal, dmenu-mac as my application launcher, and I also live in the terminal using tmux, neovim, and a bunch of custom scripts.
What’s next?

I’ve been playing around with bash scripts today. Most recent is one that uses fzf to list alacritty themes, and then lets me change it without editing the config file manually.

I was wondering how I'd manage to fit my eleventy blog onto my existing Digital Ocean server. However, I've just managed to deploy it with Vercel in around 30 seconds. So I’m pretty sure I'll be sticking with that!

Just spent some time improving pst (https://github.com/chrishannah/pst), it now supports drafts and published posts. Example command: pst draft "hello, world".

It’s still only available to install via cargo, so I need to get it on something like homebrew soon.

I’ve only spent a day writing rust, but I’m already really enjoying it. If I continue with it for a while longer, I want to really understand things like the borrow checker, and more of the rust-specifics that I haven’t encountered yet. But for small/simple command-line tools, it seems great!
