The SATA cable in this NUC is so poorly designed that it has broken itself because it bends in a way that breaks the cable. I guess they made it so long because those mini PCs with shorter cables have a chance of you yanking it out when open the case. Meanwhile, this one is too long and it's already destroyed itself.

Now, either I get an even worse aftermarket one, or try to find a used one. Would have been nice to have this extra SATA SSD.

Confusing the young cashier at the buffet yesterday got me thinking about my journey so far.
When I was a kid, I was forced into the girl box, because my mom definitely was of the opinion that girls are girls and boys are boys and should dress and wear their hair accordingly. Eventually getting to dictate how I express myself was a struggle, but once I was able to, I embraced the weird that I was. I got attention on my own terms instead of feeling embarrassed. (1/?)

Does anyone know where I could get these? These… anchors? That slide into the groove of the Apple watch. I can’t find a specific sort of a watch band I’d like anywhere, and anything kinda sorta is eithet too steeply priced or had shipping costs exceeding the item’s price.
So I’m wanting to get crafty and make the band myself, but I need these bits to attach the crafted band onto them and thus get it on my watch.

Hey Mastodon-Techies, ich habe ein älteres Surface Pro Tablet, bei dem sich der Screen seit ein paar Tagen nach oben wölbt, und seitlich abgeht. Vermutlich (wie ich eben rausfand) wegen sich wölbendem Akku.

Ich kann das Ding leider nicht kurzfristig zum Sondermüll bringen. Wie und wo lagere ich das Gerät am besten bis nächste Woche? Runtergefahren ist es. Zum Aufmachen/Akku-Rausnehmen seh ich nix.

I hit the local all you can eat pizza place with @quester, they have this every 10th meal for free pass we collect together.

Quester walks away after giving the pass and the cashier offers it to me saying "give this to your .... umm ... uh ... friend....", visibly confused. I assume it was their first meeting with a non-binary person.

The confusion was just so priceless. I can only assume the historians will say "They were very good roommates" about us....

Liebe Menschen, die ohne Auto einkaufen. Habt ihr Empfehlungen?

Situation: ich fahre weder Auto noch Fahrrad. Hier vor Ort haben wir aber alle Geschäfte, die man so braucht. Theoretisch könnten wir also ohne Auto alles einkaufen. Aber wir wohnen deutlich am Berg und laufen 600-800m in den Ort, die Straße hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen und wir sind eine 4-köpfige Familie. Das heißt derzeit machen wir eine Kombi aus alle 14 Tage macht der Mann mit dem Auto einen großen Einkauf und>

Im Fahrradladen angerufen und gefragt ob man schon was genaues sagen wegen dem neuen Rad. Räder werden seit April erwartet, aber noch nichts da. Nun ja, ich gehe mal davon aus das es nichts wird mit dem dann neuen Rad auf der Sternfahrt am 2. Juni in Berlin. Wird dann eben ein anderes Rad am Tag dafür herhalten. Wohl wieder das Brompton.
