Ah yes, tcpdump -ni any tcp port 443 vs HTTP 3, it's big brain time

Anyone remember /cgi-bin? I brought it back, but using a Bash webserver and my own JS engine instead of Perl scripts :blobcat3c:

@dansup I appreciate your work on pixelfed etc., and I understand how frustrating and time consuming outages are. I have quite a few servers to administrate myself.

I however didn't see these posts because I am mainly looking for activitypub development tools and this is the third posts I've seen with "soon".

I urge you to not try to see the worst in people immediately and jump to conclusions. Hope that clears things up. Feel free to reach out to me privately if not.

PSA: Backdoor in latest version of xz: https://openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2024/03/29/4

Downgrade if you’re running one of the latest xz versions, it has been compromised. If you’re using mainstream distros, you may be fine (as they lag with versions a bit behind master). If you’re running Alpine or any other non-gnu or non-systemd distro, you should be fine too (the exploit checks for GNU, and also probably won’t work with distro-unpatched sshd)

@domi Alpine not being affected just made my weekend a lot more relaxed

And our main server being aarch64 also seems to help that

So what do we do with instances that don't require a CW for everything? Defederate them for not following the rules?

famfo,
@famfo@chaos.social avatar

@scy woah someone doesn't sound too happy about that idea.

This post is more ore less meant at a stab at the general defederating culture going on in some parts of the fediverse. If you ask me, short form social media is really not the place to discuss such a topic.

Guess I need to put "CW: joke" everywhere again so people don't take what I post seriously again

The more I read the spec, the more disappointed I get in the so called modern protocols. The spec references multiple ways to deal with connections with limited bandwidth.

I just can't use Matrix for example on my mobile connection most of the time. Chat protocols peaked with xmpp, change my mind.
