There were a whole lot of things I was supposed to do today with both farm things and space junk things. But instead, we got a new livestock guardian puppy.
She's already getting along really well with our other LGD, though all the goat mamas seem pretty convinced she is a small bear and will need some time to come to trust her...
I am the opposite of a morning person: generally when I wake up I'm feeling the worst I do all day, and that gradually improves as a shower and have breakfast. But this morning I'm already feeling loads better than I did at every point yesterday! So that's nice.
I don't have a working theory about why, but yesterday I just felt super low energy all day - sleepy, but also physically tired as if I had worked hard all week (dear reader, I had not), aching joints, the whole nine yards.
It is with a heavy heart that I bring you the news that Twitter finally got around to renewing t dot co for another twelve months. They did this after it expired but was still in the grace period. Oh well, maybe next year.
Incidentally I'm thankfully still not seeing any of this Google "AI results" stuff. It sounds like nearly everyone else is. I don't know if the difference is because I'm on a Canadian IP, or because my feedback when they briefly opted me into the early beta tests was so aggressively negative they put some kind of "AI Hater" flag on my account
Wow, people really don't like iTerm2 adding an optional AI integration which requires you to enter your OpenAI key to use, calling it "no longer fit for purpose", etc.
Someone pointed out that this feature is optional and not only has to be enabled, but it requires you to enter a key to use. That user was, apparently, reported on gitlab and is now blocked.
@danluu that comparison with "algorithms" is a little disingenuous, I think.
People with strong opinions about terminal emulators have reason to dislike OpenAI and Copilot because of the open contempt their developers have displayed towards the people who created the data sets used for their training. A project building in (optional) OpenAI integration tacitly supports this contempt. The public reaction is a reasonable social consequence; it does track, it is not based on ignorance.
