Video showing a ~3mm sheet of metal being cut, under water, by a wire EDM tool fixed to a 3D printer. The metal piece is then embedded in a 3D print, paused mid print, then printed over. The part is then used to replace a fully 3D printed part on the machine itself, in truly rep-rap style.

I just designed my first PCB using @kicad! I've been meaning to switch from Eagle for ages. It might be the stupidest little PCB that @oshpark has ever seen. I hope they can actually fabricate it. 🤞😅
It's a tiny little shim / spacer for @adafruit QT Py boards that have components on the bottom, so they can still be surface-mounted onto another PCB (like my 1" Fibonacci128).

Demo of the 1" (25.4mm) Fibonacci128 in a case, showing off the touch pad animations and Color Palette Waves pattern. It includes dozens of color palettes and the pattern is procedurally animated to last hours before repeating. The code is open source and easily hackable, runs on @adafruit QT Py SAMD21.

Video of a hand picking up a small coin sized black disc. The disc is turned over showing a silver USB port. The disc is plugged in to a USB cable and the disc lights up, with 128 individually addressable RGB LEDs now visible shining through the dark translucent cover. When one side of the disc is touched, the disc turns dark and a wave of light passes over it, emanating from the touched point. This is repeated at three different touch points. Then two points are touched and two waves travel across it, again emanating from the touched points. When the two differently colored waves meet the colors blend together. This is repeated, touching all three points at the same time, and now three waves are shown.

I finally got around to 3D modeling and #3DPrinting a jig for soldering a Adafruit QT Py SAMD21 onto the back of a 1" Fibonacci128. I should have done this ages ago, makes it so much easier!

OK, I knew about some of the problems with StickerMule, but not all of these.

More progress on the Lux Lavalier display for @crowdsupply : I designed 14500 size lithium battery dummies, so I can have them wired to a power supply.

I've had this 6x6x6 L3D Cube for years. I finally decided it was time to dust if off and replace the built-in controller with a by @wizard!

Swapped the Pico for a Standard, and added a Sensor Board by @wizard. Got a pattern working that uses the built-in accelerometer to measure and animate based on tilt.

Video of an LED cube. The LEDs inside are lit up with different colors. When tilted, the colors shift to that side, the new "down" direction. In the video, the cube is being held and tilted in different directions: right, left, back, forwards. Whichever direction the cube is tilted, the colors "fall" in that direction.

I think what a gyro would help with is preventing the "jiggling" due to the forces overpowering gravity in the accelerometer.

Video of the LED cube from previous posts being tilted in various directions. Regardless of the direction it's tilted in, the pattern shifts to stay right side up. When the cube is shaken, the pattern inside acts like a liquid, jiggling a bit.
