I'm just a (introvert, slightly neurodivergent) person who likes #Books, #Gardening, #Food, #Crochet and #Cats. Not necessarily in that order.
I live in Northern Italy, I mean, I'm Italian, English isn't my first language.
I also like #Running and #Mountains and everything related to #Nature.
Oh...and I grow my own food.
That's all, I think.

Banner: mountains in the distance, it was a slightly foggy day - April 2008.
Profile pic is a hedgehog I sketched.

In my letterbox there is an election advertisement that says "Berlusconi for president".

He.
Is.
Dead.
Dead.
For fuck sake.

This Country is crazy.

I believe today's lesson coming out of the "search engines/Bing" mess is that the internet comes with two choices

  • the "easy" internet, where everything is friendly and nice, but you have to rely on some big-tech company.
  • the "old" internet, that's the internet of the people, who choose to try to understand how it works and make really informed choices.

My shiny new ArchLinux system!
It's useful, it's pretty, it works smoothly with all the stuff I need.
I learned a lot in the process and remembered things I completely forgot I knew. That's nice.
There is an internet connection, some layers of security, printer, scanner, games, nice themes...
I'm wondering if there is something I still have to configure/install...I guess I will know when I'll stumble upon it.
For now I declare "Past" (short for "Pastrugnolo") alive and running!

I had a birthday present! XD
...and if you think I didn't like it, think again.
I love it, it's extremely useful and it definitely makes my work in the garden easier! 🤩

btw...how do you call it in English?
the translator says either "grass trimmer" or "brush cutter" is that correct? 🤔

Here we are, I'm 50!

Happy birthday to me! 😅

...and to all those who have a birthday today, which... actually means...a lot of people?
I had never thought about it, it's basically a big happy party all around the world!
😄🎂🎉🥳

I've been avoiding this particular mess, I know.

For starters, there is absolutely nothing installed.

It's raining.
Again.

Maybe all the rain that has been missing for the last 4 years has simply decided that this is the best time to show up.

There was a roe deer drinking at the small stream in a nearby village, the poor deer was not exactly happy about the sudden presence of a human with a phone...

A roe deer (maybe) caught drinking near a very small stream that flows between old houses and village walls, on the hills. Unfortunately scared from the human presence the deer runs away in great leaps.

"Through 20 years of effort, we have successfully trained everyone to use password that are hard for humans to remember and easy for computer to guess." 👀

Sorry, it's a bit long and there is no alt text. :/
Ultimately it suggests choosing as a password 4 random common words that you can remember easily but that don't really make sense together.

"I have a book."
It's...sort of my standard answer for everything.
"How did you learn to..."
"How do you know what..."
"I have a book"

Books are extraordinary.
You only have to be able to read them and you can learn basically everything.
It's amazing.
They don't judge you, they don't make you feel stupid, they are very patient and understanding and they support you, always.
So when you want to understand or to learn something new you just have to find a book or two. Maybe more.
That's it.

I found a cat-shaped hole in the net (protective net, specifically made for cats) that marks the border of the garden.
The net is made of wire and nilon.
It would seem that a cat (a female cat! I know who wanders around in the garden at night!) has passed over the border wall and continued through the fence.
How did they make the hole? Headbutts? Bites? But above all, why?
. 😑

juc,
@juc@zirk.us avatar

@matz @oblomov parchè no gh'è posto! XD

Già così faccio fatica con il limite dei caratteri e devo sempre tagliare pezzi. -_-"

juc,
@juc@zirk.us avatar

XD
"Sito bauco?!" è più o meno "ma sei stupido?!".

juc,
@juc@zirk.us avatar

@lysander @matz @oblomov @oKolobos baùco (l'accento è sulla u) non ho assolutamente idea da dove derivi.
