Evening Matilda update: she’s made the transition out of critical care and to the normal exotics department. She’s doing well with her feedings and is (mostly) doing better with her poos. They went out of their way to point out that she is still very… uh… “spirited,” but that’s our Matilda!

Still moving in the right direction and on track to come home on Sunday.

Morning Matilda update: she's finally stopped chewing through her IV lines! The vet said the count so far was 12 lines that she's chewed through... naughty girl!

The plan today is to start weaning her off the IV meds and get her out of critical care and into the regular exotics department (where it is quieter) so she can continue her recovery (which is proceeding nicely so far).

Evening Matilda update: she is apparently still giving the technicians caring for her hell - she's been put in the cone of shame and they had to tape her IV lines in a special way to keep her from chewing them. Naughty girl! But it shows she's still got spirit, which is good.

She's started eating a bit on her own, and she's done a bit more pooping, both of which are good signs.

Current estimate is for her to be there until Saturday or Sunday.

Morning Matilda report: we gave her a big salad last night and she ate it all. Bunnycam confirms she’s been nibbling her hay all night (although not eating quite as much as I’d like to see). We also put out some critical care in a bowl, which she ate as well early this morning in lieu of pellets… good girl!

She also seems more active (if slightly annoyed at being cooped up in her pen). All good signs!
