@Ville that depends on the virtualization technology used I would say. And how you would define better. And how much tuning of the software you are prepared to do.

Generally: If you separate the transaction processing work (sidekiq) from the presentation work (streams and web) you will have a smoother presentation as a user of the service. If you dedicate more resources to the transaction processing work your posts might reach your followers faster which may be important if you have lots of followers.

What is the context of this message? When does it appear?

@jpmens I know that in you can silence ‘mute’ channels on a per channel basis.

I think this is Mattermost asking you if it is allowed to communicate those settings with the operating system when the operating system is in ‘focus mode’.

So basically the app asks you if it can trust the OS with your potentially privacy tainted data.

Er is een soort “hij was zo geweldig” show op TV waar we naar kijken.

Iemand ervaring met omruilen verouderde settopboxen en dat dat niet werkt als je je eigen router hebt? KPN claimt telefonisch dat ze "weken' nodig gaan hebben dit uit te zoeken. @bert_hubert @AngelaScholder en met ‘provider’ bedoel je in dit geval: partij die aan consumenten een aansluiting levert op het internet tegen een redelijke prijs?

Want je kan natuurlijk prima een (eventueel zelfs redundante) dark fiber glasvezel nemen naar en daar via de en zelf koppelen aan ‘de rest van het internet’. Dat kost alleen serieus geld (waarmee de optie waarschijnlijk weer afvalt als serieus alternatief).

Persoonlijk zou ik geen op redhat gebaseerd systeem meer willen.

#Debian vind ik persoonlijk ‘makkelijker’, maar er zijn meer opties.

Voor #archlinux is heel veel rete-goede documentatie.

Als je herhaalbaar en reproduceerbare installaties wilt denk ik dat #NixOS een goede keus kan zijn.

@jwijnings @voorstad @jurjen_heeck @vosje62 als je 1 of 2 machines hoeft te beheren, alleen voor jezelf, dan maakte het vroeger niet zo heel veel uit.

Nu gaat het er vooral om dat je de antwoorden op je vragen kunt vinden. En hoe meer AI er in zoekmachines (en op het internet in het algemeen) komt, hoe belangrijk dát wordt.

@echo_pbreyer van Leyen is just the ‘face of the organization’.

It is the system with its non transparent ways of accepting lobbying and big money doing the lobbying and being successful at it that is the problem.

I agree that ‘pirates’ may be the solution, but only in the sense of ‘a sane and democracy promoting alternative to a lot of the powers within the system’ if only we took the European Human Rights laws as a starting point for all new legislation.

I got off my ass and set up a vhost on a different webserver for the (bare) practicalzfs.com. It just redirects to discourse.practicalzfs.com for the moment, but that's enough to give it its own SSL certificate so nobody who types in the barename gets a cert mismatch error.

Baby steps? :)
