Hi everyone. After lemmy.world admin pulled a #spez style power trip and defederated with hexbear without any input from the community I’ve decided I want to delete my account and all posts. Any tips? For reddit there was a great script for deletion but I’m not finding anything for Lemmy. Thanks in advance
I’d love to. I hosted a mail/webserver on a liquid cooled server in my kitchen for 15 years but one day the pump failed and the server melted. After that went to dedicated cloud hostile but it was too expensive and always having to fight off the script kiddies got really tiring…

Yes and in the comments thread of the admin announcement the responses were overwhelmingly against defederation. Meaning the admins don’t give a shit about the community. Same reason I left reddit. I’ve already created a new account on another instance though so it’s all good.
Yeah I don’t understand why lemmy.world would defederate from that instance. They like anti war, anti colonialism, pro human rights pro LGBTQ and yes SOCIALIST
We’re inundated with right wing propaganda and there is so little left wing information out there that punching down on this tiny thought group seems, I dunno, to say we’d prefer the ‘offical’ take on everything
I’ve been called a tankie but I never diss anyone, I like to engage in dialogue. Heck I majored in philosophy so it’s kind of my jam. It’s a pity to punch left though, especially when we’re soo buried in right wing media and thought these days.

After buying a $70 pair of Vans at famous footwear and having them literally fall apart after using them as daily walking shoes, I’ve realized the quality of shoes overall has gone down over the last decade or so....
Oh theve definitely gone down in quality. I used to skate hard on a pair of half cabs and they would last a year. Now I walk on them and within 6 months I got holes in the rubber. Absolutely quality has gone down as part of the planned obsolescence maximize profit plan.
Need to find a company that doesn’t suck cause these vans have turned to shit
