Although it was a rough winter, my tea plant survived and produced a spring flush of tea. Prepared it as a dragonwell green, pan frying the fresh leaves and now letting them dry the next week or so. They should preserve their lovely green color and hopefully impart a toasty, nutty, balanced green tea flavor 🍵🐉

Almost got run over in the crosswalk by a driver who failed to slow down and check his surroundings as he turned. I’m pretty sure if I didn’t shout out and throw my hands up, he would have hit me.

The most frustrating part was the vacant stare and half shrug he gave me, his car stopped six inches from hitting me. Your poor driving could have put someone in the hospital, and all you can do is half shrug it off and (probably) keep driving like a jackass. 😿

New software developer I am mentoring: “At my internship at Meta I was supposed to produce at least 50-100 lines of code a day. I’m stressed because I only produced 10 lines of code yesterday.”
Oh.. no.. let’s just undo that mindset right now..

I really liked this episode! It was nice to see all the queens showcase their talents, and without any of the manufactured drama. Good vibes!

And I'm SO HAPPY FOR JAYMES! That lil underdog didn't stand a chance this season but I've been rooting for her anyway

I'm preferential to comedy performances, so no surprise that my favorites overall were Jaymes, Darienne, and Jimbo. That clown making a Sunday had me rolling 😂

Was actually a little underwhelmed with Jessica's tho.

Last note: I was just about to click send and realized I totally forgot Heidi was even on this season until this exact moment :ms_grimace:

m,

@germ Also so happy for Jaymes. I really hope she wins the Fame Games! (she got my vote)

Deceptively simple, but very clever in how it balances randomness with being able to deduce gameplay mechanics over time, Jeff Lait's POWDER is to me the perfect . I've been playing it off and on for well over a decade, and takes a signature "dying is fun" attitude, where a single run could last minutes (I've only beaten it three times). So much re-playability!

Although the source has always been available online, originally it was written with in mind. Mega Cat Studios did a limited run several years ago, on board using coin battery saves, and 64k SRAM. It runs a little clunky (and coin battery saves are always a ticking time bomb), so I thought I'd try re-purposing some old, cheap knock off boards I've accrued over the years. I ended flashing the game onto a board with 128k SRAM and that uses a batteryless save. Surprisingly it turned out to run the game perfectly, and unlike most games when trying to run on knock-offs, I could even use my GBAccelerator to clock the game (run the game loop faster, which for a turn-based game just means much more responsive controls).

Finally I designed the cartridge sticker using artwork from gameplay. I got it custom printed and put it in a shell--the back an 'adventures of link' colored gold, and the front a Famicom red.

An angled view of the cartridge, with its split gold back and red front.
The intro scene to the game running on gba. It says "Welcome to POWDER! Your goal is simple: dive to level 25 of the dungeon to reach Baezl'bub, slay him, and return to the surface with his black heart. Plenty of nasty monsters stand in your way, however. Fortunately, the dungeon is littered with useful equipment. Check for updates at www.zincland.com/powder.

m,

@jake4480 @Englebert3rd it’s amazing! (and very portable- iPhone, gba, ds, mac os, windows, linux, wii…)
