Been compulsively checking package for days...found this morning that it was in Melbourne. Came home...autocomplete URL for the tracking page. Oh look! it's been delivered! Look outside...no package.
Went down to the post office. Then home and back again to get ID. They tell me it's been signed. Go home and ask around to see if this is true. Nope. Back to the post office... Then I realise that the autocompleted URL was for a previous package that arrived 11 days ago. Didn't tell the person at the desk...
I'm thinking of starting a project soon that needs a niche of communication which LoRa fits perfectly. However, I'm still a little confused about the regulations around the standard.
I know The Things Network implements duty cycle restrictions. I won't be using the network - but is there also regulations on the band as a whole? I'm in Australia, so it's the 915-928mhz range.
looking at youtube comments of a beau miles video and I now come to the realisation that 'bang for buck' and 'schmick' are terms not very well known outside of australia. Weird.
@warkolm finally getting around to completing my allsky cam. Just a quick question: I'm getting a bunch of timeout errors with the https://github.com/AllskyTeam/allsky codebase. Apparently it's quite common for ASI120s. Did you have any issues and if so, what was the fix?
@warkolm trying to work out how to get the camera working on the pi...the camera is 2.0, the pi has 2.0 ports, but...it somehow detects it as 3.0 even when in those ports?
so far I've tried the allsky software that is just called 'allsky' and indi-allsky but they both don't work. I'm going to give the global meteor network OS a try probably today.
If none of that works, I have a backup plan that I just realised I could do, involving a very old laptop and a lot of messing with box placement...
I see the Project Hail Mary movie is going ahead, with Ryan Gosling as Grace. No word on who plays his partner; i’m genuinely torn over whether it should be Stallone or Johnson.
@Unixbigot I've been meaning to re-read the book. Read it from the library originally but then bought a copy; its been sitting on my shelf since then... I'll give it another go after I finish dune messiah.
Uneventfully home from 2.5 weeks visiting family and travelling a bit in Thailand during its hottest time of the year - 40 degrees or over every day up in the North East where we visited Buriram and, at long last, Khon Kaen; high 30s in Bangkok every day. I’m looking forward to jeans and a jacket, once more. Photos will be up soon for wider public consumption - I’ve got a bit of processing to do of the ones from the “nice” camera.
