Apple Sports. I’m having flashbacks to working on Yahoo Fantasy Soccer. US designers working on international sports… what do these numbers mean? Why are they so prominent and yet so meaningless?
@chrishannah you’re right, although I had to check. In US sports though, they would do W-L-D, I had to argue to rearrange that when I worked at Yahoo years ago. And the whole look just feels very American and odd for “soccer”, so it probably triggered something for me!
@neilgmacy Yeah and it’s not really relevant from the context of viewing a single match either.
I agree on the odds, maybe they wanted to fill the space with something 😅
I noticed a couple of people posting about digging out old blog posts recently, and it got me looking through old archived stuff.
I found some old posts from 2015 and 2016, back when I was trying to be vocally opinionated. I’ve put them in a hidden section on my website. I’ll almost certainly never write like this online again https://www.neilmacy.co.uk/more
Wrote up my Home Screens at the start of the year. I’ve done this every year for about a decade in my Day One journal, but this year I thought I’d share it.
If mastodon.social is the biggest server, and people are directed there by the main Mastodon app, does that essentially make it unblockable? If I were on another instance and my admin blocked it, I’d leave that instance.
@neilgmacy The real problem is that this huge waves of spam don't just affect that instance, it causes issues on other instances which is why a lot of instances (including the one I'm on) have to silence it for a period when this happens.
If you’ve ever seen Quantum of Solace, you’ll see an example of what happens when you continue with a production during a writers’ strike. Awful movie, and it was in between Casino Royale and Skyfall which were great.
