Hmmm, like death? as in cease to exist? Very interesting anyways.

Wanting to dual boot Windows with Kubuntu. Am I fine getting a Windows 10 key instead of 11?

A couple of months ago, I wiped Windows off my old laptop and installed Kubuntu instead. Now, I was thinking of dual booting Windows additionally for a certain game (definitely not League of Legends, for sure not) and will need to buy a new key. Am I fine getting a copy of Windows 10 despite Microsoft’s discontinuation, or...

If you are asking is it OK to use unsupported Windows 10 just for gaming, then probably. If you are using it for the regular stuff probably not.
Your system will be more vulnerable but unless you are torrenting/downloading random stuff you should be OK I guess.

Most launchers have a “run” mode were you can launch or exec any command, some require flags and/or config. As well as a “drun” mode that looks for desktop apps, most if not all TUI apps will be catches by this.

Yofi will launch anything if you specify your terminal in the config file. That way you can launch desktop apps and TUI apps.

In Wofi you have to specify the terminal but you have to do a workaround because of a bug that is not their fault. You can otherwise launch Wofi in “run” mode.

Issue, reddit post the solution is linking gnome-terminal(or one of the others specified)

For Tofi I think it comes ready out of the box if I remember correctly.

And as for the aliases, some launchers have a rename function if that is helpful to you. Can’t remember which though… sorry.

The app is a fantastic idea but I can already see myself struggling to convince people to use it.

True, the post’s title made me remember that popular MacOS user with a Youtube channel that tried Asahi Linux. He is quite funny even though he thinks that Linux does everything wrong and complicated.

Can’t wait to see Youtubers review Gnome 46 and call it an Ubuntu review.

hmm, that does not feel like it is a bug, I am not runnig Gnome but a Window Manager and there is a configuration were you can enable/disable that exact behaviour and it is called mouse warping.
You should check your setting for something like that or in Forums online.

kein problem

I agree, the experience of switching to Linux as a regular end-user is overwhelming. The worst are the sensationalist articles that seem they were plagiarized and make you feel like you are missing on some epic feature if you pick one distro over the other.

Hehe thanks. I download huge playlists and then listen to them offline because hate to wait for music to play, specially on Holidays. I recommend SimpMusic for you, lets you use Youtube Music privately with no ads and download music with no restrictions. As for how I download my music… my lawyer told me no to answer that.
I was born in 1996 but I feel you man, we used to share music with Infrared on those SonyEricssons and Nokias and then bluetooth.

I was like you, did not get the point of playlists until I got into techno and some other genres that most people would consider “trashy”. Plus there are some collections of Movies/Games that fit nice into a playlist. Anyway, thanks for the recommendation, I will check it now :) .

Seems like it could be useful for managing huge libraries

I don’t know why but this made me want to play that Windows pinball game like the old times

oh man, that not even my “Today I’m feeling overwhelmed by my emotions so I cue my emotional playlist till I figure out a rational plan” But thanks anyway :)

My family fell for it, and it is really hard to convince them otherwise.

You are younger than you think, my parents were born 63’/64’ and would never be on a forum talking about music players. :) On a Linux forum at that.

thanks for your work! I use it every day. And btw, I thought that moving from windows to plasma because the UI was boring was weird too(at least aesthetically).
