It is such a beautiful house, dating back to 1880. Sadly abandoned, ripped for being photographed by those who care to stop, look, appreciate, and think what it could have been in its early days.

We all know that winter is coming. Eventually, this is a black & white reminder of this fatality.

Another view of this university pavilion, near "Place des Festivals" (see previous post). A more abstract view of the building, with a cloudy sky. Perfect lines meet the chaotic nature of the atmosphere.

One of my preferred public places in downtown Montreal is named "Place des Festivals". Sitting on the perimeter of this wonderful place, one unique university pavilion.

Fall in coming too fast. We're already near the end of summer. Not all is lost, though. Fall is the source of many photography opportunities, like in this well-known cemetery in Montreal, Canada. -cemetery

As seen in the night from another cruise ship in South America earlier this year, a cruise boat. It was a bit surreal. #night #cruiseship #blackandwhite #darkness

Somewhere on a wall in Montreal, in 2022, taken during a photowalk to nowhere. I love the integration of illustration and painting on a newspaper page.

During a photowalk last winter. This magnificent standing tree on this street corner offered its spooky side against the dark and cloudy sky. Expect more spookiness in the future.

The lonely tree. Dark shadows, the sea of clouds, the subject centering are all on purpose. I made a few similar shots of this scene while driving in the direction of the Teide volcano. I'm proud of that one, so I share it.

While driving towards the Teide volcano in Tenerife, at some point we were above the fog clouds which created the effect of a cloud ocean, meeting the coastal line. The real ocean is actually under the clouds. This is a peek at my experience over there.

Speaking of windows, what about a look from the outside this time? In this scene, the hazardous arrangement of windows, and building walls at different angles convinced me to take this shot.

Here is a photo of a well-known structure name Biosphere on "Ile Saint Helene" south of downtown Montreal, in the Saint Laurent River. Built for Expo 67, by the US government, the "envelop" burned in the early seventies, leaving the metallic structure intact. Battlestar Galactica fans can see this building in one episode of the series. It's an excellent place for photo shoots.

I like it when there is a strange atmosphere in my images when things don't feel in their right place. I like the concept of the perfect imperfection. I use to have an Instagram account called "The Perfect Imperfctions" (with the missing "e").

The corridor in the metro station near my home. I'm a fan of symmetry, thanks to my late father, an architect!

What are they looking at? It's a famous sculpture in downtown Montreal. In real, the tone is much more yellowish, but I wanted them to be white, offering a better contrast to the building behind. There are so many interesting angles this thing can be captured with a camera.

September 1, 2018. Montreal under menacing clouds. A few moments before a major rain downpour. I was at the Mount Royal Park observatory. I prefer the photo of the rainy moment (photo #2).

Mount Royal observatory terrasse with a dark tone with rain.

I like structures, geometric forms, and anything that will make a composition very graphical. This is the Victoria Bridge linking the south shore to Montreal.

I was there today to ride my brand-new ebike! This photo was taken a while back, though, during COVID-19. The black & white process leaves the red letters intact, on purpose. Why? The building is for the "Farine Five Rose", a well-known flour in Canada. The letter's colour is linked to the commercial brand. It is illuminated at night, every night.

This is from the back of the Marie-Reine-du-monde cathedral located in downtown Montreal. This is one of the first photos I took with my iPhone 11 Pro a while ago, later in the evening. I wanted to put the iPhone to the test in dark situations. Now, one quick question: do you always think about what's happening behind illuminated windows like in this image? I do.

Marie-Reine-du-monde cathedral, on René-Lévesque Boulevard, downtown Montreal. I love this architecture which can usually be found in Europe. (I ❤️ Europe, BTW). This cathedral was inspired by the architecture and imposing dimensions of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and is the greatest symbol of ultramontanism in Canada. The specific thing that I like about this photo: the gentleman who's walking in front gives a better sense of how big this thing really is.

One last on the theme of Montreal's Olympic Stadium. That one, taken from the site of the planetarium, gives the impression of spaceships that landed on earth. Maybe they came to save us all?

Another shot at the stadium's mat during winter. I was standing on my knees, farther from the structure and wanted to capture the shadows in the snow of the vertical sticks.

@numericcitizen@pixelfed.social avatar

Now, compare this shot with the previous one. See? By changing my location, I can make this stadium's curved mat look much more dramatic. Lighting the cloud ceiling helps a lot too!

The "big wheel" in the old port in Montreal. The cloud played a minor role here in adding some dynamics to the scene. The sky, perfect weather for this shot!

This fascinating metallic sculpture is located near the entry of Montreal by the south shore.
