I feel the same way about AI that I did about crypto when it started becoming a thing:

• All of the moral practices that make it possible are fucked beyond repair.

• It’s spawning some of the worst companies, and enriching some of the worst billionaires in the world.

• While there are some genuinely useful, practical applications for it, there are so few of them, and they have had so little positive impact so far, that it doesn’t even seem like it’s going to be worth it anytime soon.

@nileane the timing is also not helping. Back in 2016 a lot of us realized how powerful and how fucked up big tech can be and the impact it can have in our world, misinformation being a big thing!

Did we try to solve this? No, we invested in AI where it's like throwing gasoline into a fire where we have no way of knowing if anything is true or not. What could go wrong?

If we still had Steve Jobs' keynotes, you know that this would be something that he would demo on stage 3 times.

⇧ still gives you slow motion animations on macOS to this day, because he wanted to show it off on stage.

Does anyone know how to make a separate sign in window in like how @Sketch presents a separate window until you sign in? Do you conditionally render WindowGroups, or do you render them all and prevent the user from opening them somehow? 🤔

@bzf we're not using SwiftUI for the window management part here (although the views are), but yeah I would just spin up a simple AppDelegate to check and open the appropriate WindowGroup.

@bzf in this case I think you'd also want to auth window to be smaller than the main one. I guess you could just present everything on the same one… but it's less Mac-like? 😅

@JPEGuin some suggestions based only on my initial reaction as a viewer 🙏

• I’d remove the "cool" in "cool apps”. Let me arrive at that conclusion myself after seeing your work (which is easy and earned), plus bonus points for humbleness ✨

• I'd cut the description text in half and add a couple screenshots ✨

• I'd add a different text treatment to the subtitle (“Travel Tracker”), giving the actual app name more impact ✨

• I would add a more explicit App Store link to each app ✨
