Considering upgrading my 2018 11” iPad Pro, which I bought in 2020. I’d downgrade from 512GB to 256GB of storage as I’m barely scratching it currently.

If I go for the new Pro it’s an investment of over £1000 as I’ll need new accessories. 🤑

However, iPad Air would be £600 with trade in, and I could keep my Magic Keyboard. But not my pencil. And I’d lose Face ID, ProMotion and a bit of screen size. (I think.) Feels like a downgrade.

@rowan_johnson Everyone is different, although I think we’re pretty similar here, but as someone who is currently using an Air after being used to the Pro for years, losing Face ID and ProMotion are things I think about every time I use my Air. If you like them, I’d suggest sticking with the Pro.

@rowan_johnson Yup, subtle but you notice. For my part, I went from an M1 Pro to an M1 Air and while I logically know they’re equally fast, things feel slower since the animations are all more stuttery.

These don't really do it justice, but Alan Wake 2 looks astounding. The lighting in particular elevates everything beyond the more traditional “video game look”.

The lights were technically visible from here, but only barely. The camera captured a lot more color than was coming through to the naked eye, but it was something!
