I guess it's time for an update on what I've been working on over the last year: A new app, completely rebuilt and rethought from the ground up. This probably won’t replace the current Reeder (not going away) for a lot of users.
It's not just an RSS reader. The app allows you to access content from various other sources like Podcasts, YouTube, Mastodon, and more.
It won't sync everything, only your saved items (favorites etc).
No more unread counts, it remembers the scroll positions instead.
Opened another 500 TestFlight slots for the new Reeder preview (see previous posts). There's still a lot to do but it's slowly getting to a usable state.
@rizzi wow, what an interesting app and very polished, already. I still think the targets and text on macOS could be a bit smaller, but holy moly I was surprised that it does support macOS so well already.
@rizzi One bug I’ve encountered so far- I added my Mastodon account and later removed it (as my Mastodon feed is a bit high volume and drowns out other feeds) and for some reason, Reeder continues to show posts from my Mastodon feed despite the account being removed.
Progress on the new app has been a bit slower than I hoped over the last couple of weeks. It’s not quite beta yet as some parts are still missing or work in progress. However, I’m starting to open up access to the TestFlight builds anyway (limited number of slots, more in the coming weeks). Just don’t expect too much yet.
