At which point did the ideals fail?

Back in the mid 90s, I though that copyright would be made obsolete by emerging web technologies and ease of digital replication.

I had not yet reckoned with or realized the sheer evil of corporate America. Of course, copyright would not just magically disappear. It would be weaponized.

How anyone thinks any different about new "AI" training is probably the most perplexing thing to the neophyte.

USA, Canada and innumerable countries were founded on colonial exploitation.

Wiped out most of the people who were already existing here. Imported millions of others for slave labor.

The great society you see was built by slaves on the graves of indigenous. By rich fuck Europeans.

Fighting amongst themselves over Kings, Churches and Taxes. Period.

It didn't even occur to the founders that the Constitution applied to anyone outside their circle.

On the contrary, the Senate as built exactly to keep control in the circle.

US Constitution was in part inspired by France, but the real rock stars of the imagination at the time were ancient Greece and Rome. Both of which were slave holding empires.

Yeah, there are some good ideas about equality, justice and law written in there but only half of us ever believe in that to see it through.

The main point about disinformation and its agents is that there is a constant stream of so much disinformation, that no one can keep up.

The victim spends time debunking and/or wondering instead of engaging of constructive conversation.

Call it the Gish Gallop.

Call it active measures.

Call it "flooding the zone with sh*t".

The goal is to get people to give up entirely on finding out what's real.

16 Michigan "fake electors" who signed onto false election certificates are now facing charges. They have one week to turn themselves in.

Of course, numerous swing states (Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, New Mexico) saw this behavior. There is already public information that more of these swing states are pursuing charges.

It'll go down among the most egregious systemic abuses in US history.

Calling it a coup attempt is correct.

    We have Premier Doug Ford, brother of world famous Toronto Mayor crack smoking Rob Ford.

    I mean, it's not like liberal politicians don't have corruption issues and scandals, but with conservatives, it's blatant and all of the time.

    Like they don't even try to hide the depravity unless it's really bad with legal consequences.

    Even then, they often still double down.

    @SheepOverboard Pretty much right on target. All legislative acts get "Royal Assent" by the Monarchy, which no one gives a damn about anymore, yet it's still there. I feel close to Australia in this sense and the crazies are going to do what they do. Y'all have Rupert Murdoch. We have USA interfering every chance including the much overblown "Convoy" that Fox News USA managed to move up here to cover on Tucker's show for two weeks.
