Taking a short Mastodon break. I'm tired of the culture of criticism here. Unlike Twitter, on Mastodon, it comes from those on the left who attack liberals for not meeting their purity tests. I've been attacked for wanting to help defeat Trump by those who don't like a Biden policy; for COVID-safe dining outside with heaters because that harms the environment; for traveling masked because some immunocompromised feel they can't. Stop attacking others; start being the change you want in the world.

    These rental scooters are a scourge. People leave in the middle of well-used paths with no regard for the safety of others.

    @cenbe You should see these scooters on campus, ignoring all traffic rules, barging though crowded sidewalks and crosswalks. University does nothing, probably because they get a cut of the profits.

    Rant

    I got a new router/modem. All went well except for the so called "smart printer wifi connection".

    Two people , 7 hours, more help screens than possibly imaginable and no luck connecting wireless printer.

    Finally got it working by unplugging the printer, rebooting the computer and then plugging printer back in and got the new hardware found notice.

    Thing is, I did not delete the printer.

    I will go to my grave hating and despising printer connections.

    @Babcia54 And that’s on top of the evils of printers themselves: subscription model marketing, overbearing control by the manufacturer, refusals to print with the ‘wrong’ ink, failed software upgrades. The most-hated computer peripheral.
