My header picture has our two beautiful Shiba Inus, Yogi & Venus, off out for a walk in the village. Both chased each other over the rainbow bridge in mid-2022.

September 2023 saw us introduce Pixel to our household, a black-and-tan Shiba Inu puppy.

Expect chats about parenting, fair weather cycling, misunderstood popular psychology, cheese, coffee, whisk(e)y, toast science, crumpeting, Haribo appreciation, and anything you can see from the top of the Malvern Hills.

    We had over 50 names, and did a World Cup bracket thing to get it down to the final two.

    I still think we should call her Jalfrezi. But I have been overruled.

    I have to pick up 9yo daughter from school, get her home, push some macaroni cheese into her face, get her into her Brownies uniform, get her to Brownies, and...

    Relax for a bit, as it's campfire evening, which means I get to sit around in a big field with some of the mums, and toast some marshmallows and sing some silly songs and play some silly games.

    I wish more dads would get involved.

    Don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy to show off in front of all of the mums.

    It's just a shame all the other dads seem to be too busy all the time...

    My vote goes to Tusky.

    I've tried a few, and I'm 80% with all of them - Tusky just slightly more than the others.

    As with so many things in life, YMMV.

    I always do this, and then I spend three times longer editing the thing down, rather than just writing it concise in the first place.

    Why use simple words when a plethora of multisyllabic bon mots will do the job indubitably

    I like to think I'm quite good at communication - I'm regularly banging on about how I can turn techie into C-suite English.

    And now I'm staring at this 1½ pages of A4, and every word on there is necessary.

    But the board get stroppy if they have to turn a piece of paper over.

    I'm going to park it and come back to it later.

    I was evangelical about Evernote about ten years ago.

    There was that whole thing where, back then at least, they wouldn't or couldn't encrypt data at rest.

    Reluctantly moved to Google Keep and OneNote, slowly adapted, and still to this day no reason to move away.

    @sicjoke Ah, it looks really good, and it'll go on Ubuntu, but it's too late:

    the family are all integrated with Google Keep,

    I'm all filed up on OneDrive and OneNote now, and

    it's 10USD a month for the device sync

    If only this had been obviously (at least for me) around about 2013...
