IMHO, a more practical piece of advice would be “wait a week or two before installing point larger point releases.”

People are going to use cloud backups. They like the convenience too much.

I’d argue that there are a couple of studios that are still mostly focusing on making good content, not click bate.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I think YouTubers like MKBHD are generally playing it straight. Trying to stay on top by getting better and better content.

Although, these people tend to burnout eventually. They have to keep running a faster mile.

Yeah, I’m just saying that some exceptions break through. Some YouTubers make content that is so good that people outside of YouTube consistently share the shit out of it. They don’t need the click bate for the initial boost, they get the boost from sharing off the platform.

That’s one of many factors.

Lots of people have studied this over the years, many people also attribute this to the GI Bill, the post WWII economic boom, Racism / White Flight, the National Highway Act, and social norms that developed after man Americans grew accustomed to the concept of suburban life.

It’s a complex things that was fueled by war, money, affordable land, cars, big roads, etc.

Sure, but infrastructure is not just fiber, and there is a lot of stuff in between your long stretches of fiber.

I’m not a sys ops guy, but I can pull from different data centers and see measurable differences

This is a pretty well known phenomenon. That’s why we have cloud data centers located close to major metro areas.
