I found myself a cute little 90s style dress at the thrift store today. Actually, it wasn't little. It was kind of big, but I've taken it in so it fits me better.

I'm thinking about lowering the neckline a little bit but that will be a lot more involved

One of the newly pupated moths climbed up my hand tonight and onto my shoulder. As I walked them out to the greenhouse where it is safe and much warmer, they slowly made their way up my neck and onto my hair. As their wings spun up in preparation to fly for the first time, I got to listen to the vibration of the air and feel it on the side of my face for a minute or two. slowly beating faster and harder, until suddenly the air became thick and almost warm, and they took off in flight🦋

It's hard to come to the realization that Transhumanism was never "stolen" from me, but that it was snake-oil tech-hype rich-people bullshit from the very start and that no matter how much nerds like me identified with it, it wasn't for us. The "radical life-extensionists," the pill-pushers, the frozen billionaires, that's who it was always for.

The desire to "transcend humanity" is fundamentally rotten, and it's the domain of eugenicists, "effective altruists," and other delusional twerps.

@North I feel I came to a similar realization after I did some of my past work. On the whole, developing my own tech left me feeling weirdly disillusioned and angry with humanity, rather than helping me connect with it through self expression/reflection as I had hoped.

I made a skirt this weekend from a king-size bedsheet. Its length is from waist to floor, full circle when laid flat. The build was straight forward, but involved a lot of patient pinning. Tomorrow I see how high I can get it to whirl off the ground🌹
