Whatever happened to lemmy.film?

It had a few niche communities I would occasionally post to after the Reddit exodus but a couple months later I would post there and get no responses or votes. Going to lemmy.film now gives me an error message. Did they decide to shut it down or combine with another instance similar to FMHY? I am curious if they gave some kind...

Maybe its the broadness of the word politics. As its extensive and easy to get hooked up on politics being old men farting in a room deciding on whether or not to rase the retirement age.

In that case I understand what your saying, so if we sent children to colonise another planet and these children miraculously had no understanding of prior generation or the world they’d come from we would soon see a system form akin to politics most likely archaic but would continue to evolve and would govern the lives of generations, this colony would most likely (if they survive) go on to create science, maths and build systems to interpret the world around them and all this governed by politics.

Udev rules and a bash script

bash is one of many ways to interface with linux from shell/terminal, it is what you use to install updates in terminal and can be used to create scripts for automation.

udev is like an admin tool, udev rules allows a user to apply rules to systems, like if keyboard is removed launch x-application.

indeed udev rules will monitor devices and on device change a action can be set, what desktop manager are you using? udev quick how to guide / a more in-depth

gnome might be tricky to interface with over shell commands, and sadly i use sway so i am limited with advice, checking ubuntu forums would be a good start for you though.
