@nosleep I understand and agree. I don't mean to imply they were only guilty of minor things. But Putin's jailing of oligarchs is held up as persecution frequently around here. I mean it kind of is since if you're a looter but Putin's friend then you're safe.

Here's something I've noticed: if you pay for the cheap plane tickets because you don't need the other perks they don't give a fuck and they will just straight up cancel your flight / bump you to another shitty flight

Even if you don't need the guaranteed refund or extra luggage or whatever shit they offer you might as well pay for it or they'll screw you the first chance they get. I've seen it happen to a lot of family members lately and it just happened to me

first band i was in we recorded an ep on a 4 track and then i digitized it with like wavepad or something like that and imported the audio by playing a tape deck and having the headphone output going into the an audio input on some packard bell pentium 1

people claim that boeing has deteriorated in quality simply because the ceo is a "business person". what people forget is that the previous ceo (dennis muilenburg) was an engineer by trade. engineers can be greedy, soulless people too. even more so than most pampered business execs. we, as engineers, really don't want to admit this, but it's true. the ceo and management hold a lot of the blame, but the people working there are complicit too. if there's a few people who have been murdered over their conscience, there are a few thousand who took the money and shut up. because no one spoke up, the safety culture completely deteriorated. and now it's too late
