I have a hardware device which allows me to stream live free to air tv over my wifi network. The manufacturer has decided to retire to product and has removed the app from the AppStore!?...
To me, it seems objectively easier to pull into a parking space forward and then back out of the space when you are ready to leave. You don’t have to line up with the lines while driving backwards, and it’s easier to keep from hitting other cars as well. So why back in? To me, the only advantage I can think of is that you...
When pulling out, we are often more distracted because we have just been doing something else. Conversely, when parking, we are already in driving mode so it is easy to concentrate. Pulling put forward seems safer to me, as I can see everything so less likely to have an accident.
I’m starting my degoogling journey (mostly looking into the various options at hand) and I was wondering what hood alternatives to Goohle Photos is there? I’m specifically wondering about a service that would double both as a cloud storage and a gallery with a timeline and such. But currently it’s only cloud storage backup...
Probably no better than google privacy wise etc but Amazon photos covers all of your bases, and is included as part of the prime subscription. So if you are a prime member you may already have a “free” alternative. There is no storage limit for regular photos either.
It’s actually the reason I became a prime member here in Japan, because just for the photo storage it was much cheaper than other cloud options like apple etc.
Throughout my life i have set up a multitude of different printers. None of them have been a pleasant experience. Why is this, and is there a printer that is actually good?...
I have an Epson (not eco tank) and it has this. It is called a maintenance box. But you can get one off Amazon etc for a few dollars and it is easy to replace, just one screw off the front. The display literally shows you how to do it!
I love my Epson. I use generic cartridges and they work fine. When you install a generic cartridge it gives you a warning, and that’s it. I have it on wifi but I have disabled firmware updates in the settings.
In the past two weeks, the site has been very unstable, sometimes for one second a page would load and the next it wouldn’t load at all. The status of lemmy.world would fluctuate a lot on lemmy-status.org, and there have times where the site has been down for hours.
I lost my flash drive and need a new one. Transfer speeds don’t matter too much. I will mainly use it to create bootable media and to transfer a few files between computers and/or phones (no cloud storage for me)....
I wonder if all medical institutions will have the required equipment to read the cards by the deadline? Most of the places around here don’t have them. And although I have the card, I’ve never tried using the machine.
Does anyone know if you have to enter the PIN when it is scanned? That would be annoying if so.
I’ve got a bug that I haven’t been able to pin down. Set the default feed to subscriptions but sometimes upon launch (after killing the app) it is set to all. I haven’t been able to figure out what is causing it as it seems random. Has anyone else noticed this?
It’s summer festival time. Just ate yakisoba at my local festival. It’s ¥400 but the noodles always seems thicker than what the supermarket sells. What gives?...
Yeah that’s true. But for me it’s part of the fun so I tend to pick up one or two things. Off to another local festival tonight. I’ll see what they have!
Hmm your device seems to have better specs than mine. Best to just be patient and wait for the next update. The awesome devs seem to be refactoring a lot of code right now. I’m sure this issue will resolve itself in future updates.
I was thinking about going for the trail or at least a part of it by bike at some point, but I wondered if anyone here has done something similar before? I’m not religious and would rather do it for the experience and to get to know Shikoku better. I’m not sure whether this would be considered offensive to practicing...
My relatives have made many month long trips here and always cycled. I’m talking about trips like Kumamoto to Osaka and farther.
They’ve always brought their own bikes from abroad. Put it this way, the first year was the only time I saw them with folding bikes (albeit they were pretty small, but I’m not sure the size you’re talking about). Since then, they have always brought hybrid GIANT bikes.
Welcome! Let’s be active so let’s make posts. I used to lurk mostly at the old place but here we need to be more proactive to encourage more users to join!

How to do combini-pay from Rakuten?
I’m used to using conbini-pay with Amazon. You buy the item off the site, it emails you a barcode you take to 7-11 and they scan it and you pay....
