Can I use a Broadlink RM4 (Pro) to learn IR codes AND store them somewhere I want? Would be amazing if the format can be transformed with IrScrutinizer too. (Using Home Assistant)

So, what I want to do is basically to be able to publish some of my own IR remotes at home to some public database, very probably IRDB. Of course I’d also be using the device for automations and so on, which I know it works great at that. But my main goal is to make it possible for people to not have to buy a stupid remote for...

I have RM3 models and I use homebridge. The broadlink plugin works as you’d expect. Using the learn command, you then point the remote at the broadlink device and press the button you want to learn. The IR code (a long string) appears in the server log. Then you can copy and paste it to save it wherever you want. So in theory your idea is sound. But the official broadlink app won’t support revealing the codes.

hole is just there for making production easier

The holes allow the socket to grip the plug more firmly according to this page.

But, yes. These plugs are completely normal in Japan at least.

It looks pretty awesome. But I do wonder why your workplace doesn’t just refill the bottle instead of disposing of it and buying a new one. Props for the up-cycling though!

Oh man I love salt and vinegar chips so much but I cannot for the life of me find anything that tastes strong enough that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg in Japan.

Good to know, thanks! Now to go search for vinegar powder!

Yeah the (lack of) difference in price between generations is ridiculous. I just bought a 13 after using my 8 for six years.

The only difference between the 13 and 14 was once graphics core. So there was no way I was considering the 14.

But the 15 has USB C, which don’t get me wrong is great, but when you have a ton of lightning cables that will need to be replaced, it doesn’t seem like such a good idea (especially when family members are still using phones with lightning).

The politicians worry that same sex marriage will result in an even lower birth rate, which seems ridiculous! It’s not like those people are currently making babies. And they might consider surrogacy or other options if they were able to marry. So same sex marriage could actually increase the population.

What method to clean them would you recommend? Just some bleach and a scrubbing brush? Would you have to remove them beforehand?

Cool. Thanks so much. I know what my weekend plan is now lol

If you use a dns level ad blocker there aren’t any ads. I didn’t know there were any until I read your post.

It’s a pretty popular beer in Japan. Many people I know love it (not a beer drinker myself). I’d imagine you can probably get it wherever you live, too.

If you’re talking about the top and bottom navigation bars, Arctic has the option to hide them so you get full screen scrolling.

Looks great. I wish my bathroom looked that nice

They both show fine in a mobile browser. I guess the OP wants an app which aggregates both into a nice layout without the need to login. Kind of like how many lemmy apps have a guest mode (ie no login but can browse freely)

I’m curious why you would want to ferment both pico de gallo, which is essentially a fresh salsa, and blueberries? Were you trying to preserve them or something? Some context is missing here. Maybe someone else can be of more help. You have piqued my interest though.

Thanks for the info! Experimentation in the kitchen is fun! I haven’t attempted any fermentation yet. I usually take fresh pico de gallo that’s not so fresh and cook it down with some tomato paste, blitz it, and use it as a dip or pizza sauce. To prolong its life I freeze it in an ice cube tray which I then transfer to ziplock freezer bags.

It doesn’t have ads if you use a kids profile, even on the main client. I’ve been using the unified interface on Apple TV for almost a year now. Nothing is really changing.

“The Soundtrack to the movie of my life” by Friendly. At least that’s what I imagined as a teenager lol.

Thanks for the update. It seems normal now. Thanks!
