One of the local papers just put out a notice about a "community meeting" about a 9 unit condo building a landowner wants to build. It would be a cute corner building at a major intersection a half kilometer from a rapid transit station and with 15 minute bus service. The landowner wants there to be 23 parking spaces, and it'll still have to go through ZBA for some reason (likely setbacks) :withered_wojak:​

Assuming that the constitutional amendment in NH to enshrine the FITN law passes, I wonder how this Supreme Court will go when the inevitable case reaches them. I guess their options are to force the Democrats to let state set their elections whenever they want with no penalty, or to tell Granite Staters that if they really wanted their votes to count they shouldn't have passed that amendment. Wildcard ruling would be to ban state-run elections for private organizations entirely.

Wendover did a video on the MBTA and made a comment about how Mayor Koch doesn't care about the subway despite being on the board. Fun anecdote about that, for most of the last year the line between Boston and Quincy had so many speed restrictions that what normally took less than 7 min was taking more than 17. It was the talk of the city. When the restrictions were finally cleared, a paper asked the mayor his thoughts, and he said he wasn't aware of the issue and it likely wasn't a big deal.

I'm still pissy that UTA was one of the first transit agencies to have open-loop contactless payments and they killed it right when contactless cards were getting popular. At least they're bringing it back now, but that will take a while. #SaltLakeCity

The local (national chain) coffee shop got a beer and wine license this month, and I'm interested to see what they do with it. I'd totally go over there for an evening beer if the prices are reasonable. One of my favorite coffee shops (sadly lost during 2020) did cocktails and live music in the evenings that was a lot of fun.

Spending part of my morning writing nastygrams to businesses nearby that don't have bicycle parking but should. So far I've got the liquor store, a grocery store, and the urgent care. I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.
