torres,

Oh my god that sounds like a nightmare

torres,

Looks really fun. But it will be a Meta Quest exclusive :(

torres,

Sadly, I haven’t found a way to do it. It would be a great feature

torres,

I don’t use Linux at the moment, but one of the things I miss most is the lack of bloatware. It’s so refreshing to have just the applications you need, not some weird thing running in the background eating up your RAM.

It’s hard to say what would change the most for you, as it depends a lot on what you do. I recommend installing it as a secondary OS and trying it out to see if you like it.

One of the great things about Linux is that you can find almost any information you need on the Internet, so it’s pretty easy to learn how to use if you’re more or less technically inclined and like to research solutions online.

torres,

It’s probably just a curated statement to make him not look like a piece of shit

torres,

Used to happen to me when I was a kid. Now I’m just careful enough not to piss through the seat

torres,

I mean I love Lemmy but I don’t see it going mainstream :/
It’s too weird for the general user

torres,

As much as I love Lemmy I don’t see it going mainstream :/
It’s too weird for the general user

torres,

I’m sorry, I don’t know if “general user” means what I think it means. English is not my first language.

What I meant was that most people who use the internet and social media on a regular basis aren’t exactly nerdy/tech-savvy. So as soon as you start talking to them about federated instances and whatnot, they lose interest.

torres,

I completely agree, I don’t find it difficult at all. But I have already tried to recommend it to a couple of friends and just having to go through those first steps was enough for them not to want to use Lemmy.

torres,

jsjajsj yeah, Jerboa froze on me so I had to retype the comment. I didn’t realise it had already gone through.

torres,

That was more or less my reaction .-.
I expected something nice… but this was the first thing I got when I clicked the link

torres,

I couldn’t find anywhere what they mean by 1%. If it’s as you say, and an annual income of €4500 is enough to be considered as such, then I think it would be quite excessive.

torres,

One relatively recent and quite expensive alternative would be electric cars. But I don’t really see that as a real, permanent solution, for that you would need a good railway/tram system, which sadly isn’t all that common all around the world

Mapa actual para comparar. La verdad que tanto no cambió, pero los tramos usados por pasajeros no son absolutamente nada, una pena.

Hello!

I’m guessing this is the place to post this? Even though my reddit app is still working due to the creator trying to keep it up out of pocket, I’ve decided to delete reddit for good. I wasn’t originally planning on joining lemmy but I have no real social media anymore so I figured I’d give it a shot. Does anyone have any...

torres, (edited )

Boost for Lemmy will also come out eventually! It was my favourite app for Reddit, so I’ll definitely give it a try

torres,

I feel like this is the way. It's more or less the idea with the EU, and I would say it's working great. I just hope this level of cooperation reaches the whole world

torres,

I'm currently reading The Rising Storm by Cavan Scott. It's part of the High Republic saga of Star Wars, and I'm really enjoying it so far :D

It was quite a challenge to read a book in English for the first time with Light of the Jedi (the first book of the series). But I feel like I've gotten way better and can now understand more while reading faster.

After this, I'm planning on reading The Prince of Milk by Exurb1a. Which I have wanted to read for a long time.

Question about qBittorrent

So I was downloading a torrent late last night. I of course was using protection since I live in one of those countries where you need one. I ended up falling asleep, leaving it run and seed all night. Does qBittorrent happen to keep a log of peers? I just want to know if my IP somehow leaked last night even though my VPN was...

torres,

I'm not entirely sure. But one way of avoiding that problem altogether is to enable a VPN kill switch.

torres,

Weird, I can only get the version 0.33 through Google Play

torres,

Ahh interesting, I didn't know that

torres,

I spent a couple of minutes looking at the red circle until I understood what you meant.
It's probably a translation error; it shows correctly in German.
