I’m the only Sublime Text guy here, I guess. Mostly with extensions for formatting, linting, and detecting compilation/type errors. I work with all kinds of languages, mostly interpreted. Python, Rust, Bash, JS/Typescript, Solidity, and a smidge of others so it’s hard to pin down one workflow.
EDIT: Just wanted to add that it’s really cool to see the diversity in the replies. This here is the power of Linux.
One thing I’m not clear about is the impact my home instance has on me. I joined lemmy.world and am currently using the connect for lemmy app. I know when I sort by Local it will only show me posts from lemmy.world, but beyond that are there any things to keep in mind?...
It matters. The admins mater. They control federation, styling, upgrades, security, performance, and admin-level moderation things. Also, some instances try and cater to certain communities (e.g. lemmy.zip tries to focus on gaming and tech).
I had them air fried before, and if you really inspect them and think about it you can tell they aren't chicken (from the texture but the taste is identical IMO). But I had them fried in a deep fryer this weekend and they were indistinguishable from real chicken nuggets. I am flexitarian so it's not like I haven't eaten a...
They could’ve said they’ve eaten a nugget. But instead they implied that being a flexitarian equates to having eaten said nuggets or that it’s so common that anyone who eats meat at all would have eaten a nugget.
I’ve not been here long, but I’m curious how users who were present before the reddit drama feel about any potential changes to the content and tone of discussions.
Because it’s not a “leftist space.” It’s a federated Web platform with many communities. If any of you identipols want a safe space go setup some password protected forum somewhere.
I’m using Signal, but after I found out that it’s not as privacy-friendly as it claims, I’m uneasy about sharing my address there. I trust the person who asked for my address, but not the service. What’s a safe way to share? I was thinking of something like a self-destructing pastebin, but surely you have better ideas.
1ty.me would be described as a “self-destruting pastebin.” I’d generally be careful about what you can put in there (e.g. put partial information in it with no context) but it seems to do the job.
