If you haven't updated in awhile, emerge the new glibc, reboot, then emerge GCC. I also had to explicitly set "march=raptorlake" on one of my systems vs "native". ☹️
@ScottE I did see some folks having to do that on the forums while I was poking around a bit. It must've been some error the devs found because between yesterday and today, a new emerge sync corrected the problem for me
Is there a standalone piece of electronic #music equipment that I could buy to dip my toes in? I find myself gravitating towards the OP-1 by Teenage Engineering. It looks like it includes just about everything I could imagine to get started fooling around but maybe I'm way off base.

Questions like this tend to prompt people to tell you that the thing they personally own and like would be better for you than the one you've mentioned.
Fwiw, if you can afford the TE, and you like the look of it, buy it and see how you like it. If you don't get on with it, you can sell it and treat the loss you'll inevitably make as rental.
There's a zillion do-everything synths out there. Fill your boots, as they say.
Visiting family away from home and this xz security issue cropped up. Thankfully I can #wireguard to my home to update my #gentoo machine from my phone.
I think I'm up to about 10 years worth of identity monitoring at this point. What a worthless concession with no real repercussions for these companies that suffer breaches.
This kid wears his dreadlocks pulled up and has to spend an entire year going to school alone? Supremely fucked up.
"The case involved Darryl George, who wears his dreadlocks braided on top of his head, and Barbers Hill Independent School District, which had claimed the 18-year-old's hairstyle violated its dress code, Houston Public Media reported. It suspended him in August and sent him to an off-site disciplinary program for the entire school year."
Pre-Ordered a Yahama #seqtrak yesterday. I've been looking for something like it since I became aware of cool instruments like the OP-1 by Teenage Engineering. Unfortunately these instruments are usually quite expensive but the Seqtrak at $399 new seems like a great deal. Especially with how powerful it seems to be.
Barring the annoying preview image on this vid, it's pretty good at demonstrating the power of this little device.
