Gave up Google search for Duck Duck and the web looks way different.

@dbergey Generally, I'd say yes. Less paid results by far. Easier to get to the main results. Also no AI result.

@idoubtit That is true, but they are labeled.

@ernie It's a wicked curse. Best to get back on the horse immediately.

They released a video, and he admitted he did it; I think you can stop referring to Diddy as "allegedly" committing a crime.

One of the most difficult parts of dealing with emotionally immature people for me is that they don't really experience time in the same way. Regarding interactions with people, they experience each one as a discrete moment.

So, if they are late, they can't see they have been late many times. Just that you were meeting them for lunch and you got angry that they were a little late.

They are incapable of linking situations together and experience them as cause and effect.

zoomar,
@zoomar@masto.ai avatar

Toxic people think you should forgive them or not hold onto anything and that you should enter each situation fresh. That you should assume good intentions and that they love or care about you.

It makes it extremely difficult to have a relationship with them because everything is always your fault. You have no patience and react in crazy, overwrought ways to minor indiscretions.

How can you deal with that long term?

zoomar,
@zoomar@masto.ai avatar

@Lundemo True. It just helps me to describe in a way that reminds of that. If I can see their perspective, which feels confusing from my end, it allows me to have empathy for them.

zoomar,
@zoomar@masto.ai avatar

@suetanvil For sure. I'm good at setting boundaries for myself, but it's still hard that there is no way to communicate my emotional position to them that they will understand.

People sure feel like if they feel like lecturing you about something, you are obligated to listen to that lecture.

I can't spend any time around people who constantly complain about service workers.

How long until it's a crime to trick AI into giving the wrong information?

No way they're going to blame the AI, it's going to be the fault of the person who posted it.

I have no idea why anyone without an actual store would give Google access to all their content, especially fresh content.

Other than work stuff, I've moved my creative endeavors off the web.

@wombatarama The internet is so weird these days. It needs to settle down.

To mark my return to the Mastodon scene, please accept the gift of this crow. His name's Bossy and he's one of my top . His interests include knocking over flower pots like a winged bowling ball and eating cheese ravioli.

I wish humans had a brain reboot button for those times when you are having RAM problems or a performance issue with your CPU.

zoomar,
@zoomar@masto.ai avatar

@datenwolf I don't want to push it all the time. Maybe just a memory reboot for loops?

@wombatarama Store some stuff externally, so you have to put effort into getting it.

Overly frugal parents are abusive. Especially if they hold an inheritance over your head as an adult, it's like they're promising everything they withheld from you as a child will arrive after they die.

That feeling when a marketing company trying to get your business sends you a Lorem Ipsum email.

The biggest thing I learned from school as a child was that a big part of life is just a misery that you have to endure. Boundaries are decided by other people, and you don't even get to choose whether or not you sit next to the person who punches you in the arm all day. Some adults in charge of you care about you; some don't; it is random and needs to be assessed constantly. That doing more than expected or doing something amazing was irritating to everyone.

Took me decades to unlearn that.
