Spam and porn are flooding kbin already

There is a substantial amount of spam and NSFW posts on the All page coming through already. Most NSFW posts aren't being tagged as such and are coming right through. I am not sure how this can be weathered but we need something in place fairly soon, I feel like we are days away from rivers of bad stuff, especially via some of...

Defederate, massively

Beehaw has more than 380 instances blocked. I don't think that kbin blocks anything, where can we see the list?

edit: I see a lot of downvote. You DO understand that some instances are sharing lolita stuff and the police can close the servers of Ernest depending on what is federated? Right?

I don't think that you fully understand the scale of illegal stuff that is transiting on the fediverse, and by illegal I mean "FBI illegal". You don't want it stored on Ernest's servers. Some instances are blocked for a very good reason, even you would agree.

BTW I already switch to defederate and I blocked NSFW, but we all have to take into consideration the risks for Ernest, because in fine he is the one hosting the pictures.

End of the day a lot of Reddit's value came from its popularity.

Value to who? Not to me. I saw subs I liked nosedive because of popularity. I saw the network effect force me to unsubscribe and search elsewhere.

I can even give you an estimate of the number of subscribers required to kill a sub, between 70k and 300k, depending on the theme of the sub. This is when the peanut gallery joins in and the spectators become the showrunners.

But value to the shareholders? Sure! More people, more ad revenues.

I deleted all my content but I did it over the span of a few days, to let the different caches around reddit to update with the new void, and my content is still deleted (so far).

I said it before and I say it again: if you have the patience to do so then make sure you overwrite your content with chatgpt generated content, as the future AI that will feed on your post HATE feeding on already AI generated stuff. It makes the AI diverge.

edit: Filling your previous content with random generated content also make it harder to restore because it is harder to spot, compared with the comments which are simply "deleted". Also, if all of it is really true, congratulation to reddit for demonstrating to everyone and specially the USA how useful the GDPR is for the citizen.

Of course reddit runs his own ones! It is their business to keep people scrolling. The real question is why would there be anyone else running the bots. To sell an account? You can get this with 3 posts in /awww... no need for spam bots.

The people who joined lemmy.world/one/whatever did it because they saw light and people. They are mostly spectators, not content creators.

The people who joined kbin saw an opportunity to restart from scratch, they are creators.

/m/politics has no moderators other than ernest

/m/politics is basically unmoderated, and the trolls and other ne'er-do-wells are starting to find it. I'm not even particularly interested in following it, but that's one topic that you don't want to leave unmoderated. It's a troll magnet for obvious reasons, and that starts to affect the rest of the instance (and the...

...Annnd they made /m/politics a USA thing only.

It's fine, leave this bone to the attention seekers and get your news from another magazine.

Does someone feels the courage to open /m/anythingbutmetric?
