Cheers. I added the hooks to allow for guy-wires but none of the bonsai are at the stage of development to need it quite yet. I just used a few pages of newspaper to hold the substrate until the roots can do the job. That is a thick ol' boxwood, looks like a former hedge.
OC Made a bunch of seedling cuttings today - Was wondering, what substrate others use for germinating pine? Sifted sand was a success this year.
OC My attempt at bonsai training pots. Made from ekodeck off-cuts (wood/plastic composite) with mesh stapled to the bottom. Holes are drilled through the side walls to anchor the roots with wire.
