_danny, Lying to your therapist like this has to be one of the dumbest things you can do. As long as you don’t tell them you are actively planning ways to do it they’re not going to lock you up for admitting you have suicidal thoughts.
All it does is make treatment harder.
Brickhead92, I’ve told a few psychs that I have many suicidal thoughts and that it’s not to be worried about because I have a much greater fear of death.

Anticorp, I think there’s a difference between thinking “I wish I was dead” and thinking “I’m going to end my life”. I’m not a psychologist though
ThatWeirdGuy1001, Yeah one is called being passively suicidal. It’s still not good and shouldn’t be brushed off
kauraaaa, why even bother going to therapist then?
ofc there could be trust thresholds to be crossed with given professional but withholding information will get treatment process off the rails…
Klear, Never lie to your doctor, your lawyer or your accountant.
Zugyuk, “yes, but it isn’t an issue you need to worry about” has served me just fine
Krackalot, Hey man, you’re technically being honest as suicide and lacking the will to live are different.
