I've been testing Metroid Prime on the Anbernic RG405M (GammaOS), running on various versions of Dolphin

Note: using the PAL ROM.

I would say that the official Dolphin has the best outright performance. Unfortunately, it doesn't display the menus properly, and it doesn't show the map at all.

The only version of Dolphin that would display the map for me was MMJR 11505.

Here are the settings I changed from default:

  • General -> Sync on skip idle: disabled
  • General -> Audio stretching: enabled
  • Graphics -> Graphics API: Vulkan
  • Graphics -> Shader mode: asynchronous (skip drawing)
  • Graphics -> Aspect ratio: Force 4:3
  • Hacks -> Skip EFB access from CPU: enabled
  • Hacks -> GPU texture decoding: enabled
  • Hacks -> Immediately present XFB: enabled

Other Dolphin versions tested:

  • MMJR2
  • MMJR3
  • Retroid Pocket 3+

Overall, the game is quite playable with MMJR 11505. It does stutter sometimes, and there are some graphical glitches, but I got to the point where I forgot I was testing and started to play the game - that's always a good sign. I tested up to defeating the first boss.

Have you had any success in getting the map to display with other versions? Do you recommend any other settings?

EDITED to add another note.
