Can anyone recommend a set of flip flops that are durable and last a long time? I had another cheap pair break the other day, and I’m looking for something more durable.
Okabashi sandals or slides. Made in the USA, Durable rubber with grippy texture on the vamp, so they stay on your feet without straps or Velcro. Comfy, even for those of us born with pancake feet.
I recently purchased my first pair of leather Olukai sandals and they have been incredible. I had Rainbows a long time ago, but these are way more comfy, didn’t even have a break in period.
Olukai are the best. Their sole shape is perfect for my foot and I never get random foot pains while wearing them. I’ve worn my pair for 4 years now and the only sign of use is slight wear on the heal.
My wife has had the same pair of rainbow flip flops since we met in 2010. She wore them basically every day for years but now we both wear Birkenstocks which are another good option.
I hate flip flops with a passion. They suck to walk in. They're uncomfortable. The thong is annoying. They break easily. They're slippery. They're the worst.
BUT, I actually like these Okabashi sandals. They're comfortable and very, very durable. I got them at CVS several years ago and they're still holding up.
Otherwise, I highly, HIGHLY recommend Birkenstocks. I have this pair and they're amazing. They're definitely an investment, but they're so durable and I can walk all day long in them. I've had them for a few years now and they just keep getting more comfortable.
I have reefs with a cork sole that are comfortable, have an arch, and have held up well. My oofos are doing well but sometimes get slippery. I don’t like Skechers sneaks, but i have two pair of their flip flops that are very comfortable, and will probably last forever. After 5 years i bought the second pair because i wanted a different color.
Havaianas last me forever. Not the fancy, multiple-material ones. Just the simple, rubber, 'Brazil' ones that are like $20. I live in Florida and wear them with shorts and jeans, in the summer and winter. They're indestructible.
Personally, I’ve always had good luck with any of the “surf brands” flip flops. My personal preference right now is billabong.
I can’t stand the way the super cheap, like from Walmart or target, ones feel anyhow.
Also, some people swear by Birkenstocks. And east coasters seem to love some Teva ( I’d never be caught dead in them or crocs or Birkenstocks for that matter).
I have a pair of speedo flip flops that are six years old and worn regularly in summer during gardening, kayaking, etc. They don't look brand new by any means but I imagine they will last a couple more years.
Edit: looks like I have the exsqueeze me style and they are discontinued now. :(
