Hmm, I probably should have cleared out this box a decade ago.

ai6yr,

This was just about the time that the software's namesake, John McAfee, went strong into guns, drugs, prostitutes, sex, and crime. He'd already sold all his shares in the company a decade before. Yet another "too much money and no purpose in life" death spiral. https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/john-mcafee-was-face-cybersecurity-life-spiraled-rcna1262

@ai6yr I just don’t get it with all these rich white weirdos.

It seems like Tom from was really the only one who had his head screwed on straight.

ai6yr,

@lkngrrr I know so many of these folks. When your entire goal in life is to "create a company and become insanely rich" there's a non-zero chance that you lose your meaning in life and drift. There are those that adapt, there are those who keep going for lack of anything better ("why is <insert name> still doing this? He's a billionaire"), there are those that go metaphysical ("<insert hundred millionaire> is on a spiritual retreat at an Ashram/exploring psychedelic drugs/on a two week yoga retreat in Sant Fe"), go full hedonism ("<insert name> is on his brand new superyacht in the Mediterranean with a bunch of hot girls he met at a club in Cannes").
