Can I post to magazines on another kbin instance?

Yeah, it even works across software like me seeing this on lemmy. The trickiest part is if you are the first person to interact with a given magazine. You have to ”establish” the federation. Best way I can recommend is pasting the direct link into both the general kbin search and the magazine search a few times then you just have to wait a bit.

AFAIK Yes you can but only if your instance has not defederated from that instance.

So like Mastodon, I have my local Kbin instance but can read and following content from other servers. Awesome.

Yep. If you don’t already have access to a particular instance, you can paste the address in the search bar (a la !Help) to gain access. Any posts other people make on that instance will eventually become accessible here, and any posts you make on their instance via kbin.social will do the same for them. The only exception is if an instance blocks access to other instances, like what happened between beehaw and lemmy.world.
