It used to be Nimrod+Magic+Galactus, similar turning off limbo for the win, but they changed Galactus.

Currently it's Storm+Abs man in a move deck to nuke 2 locations and then Heimdall into them

Anyone else think Jean Grey would be a totally dumb card? I was really hoping for them change her effect before they release her. As it is I don't think I would have much fun with her in the meta.

Out of the new cards in July's set, I think Legion is going to be the most fun to play with! There's going to be some great plays, imagine playing no cards and then Legion into the Bar With No Name on the last turn 😂

Magneto on Fisk Tower is really satisfying. Especially if the opponent has a Dracula on the board

I love playing playing Bucky on Rickety Bridge on turn 6. So many games surprise won that way.

Green Goblin and Space Throne is also nice.

Destroying a card feels like a pretty powerful effect for a 4/6. But I also consider move cards kinda weak, so an effect like this could be what they need.

I think the card is fine. Will see some use, but won't terrorize people.

snailwizard, in ELI5: With the acquisition changes, what do I need to do to get the cards I want?
snailwizard avatar

Upgrade cards with Credits to earn Collector Levels (CL). Every 120 CL earned gets you one Spotlight Cache, which is to say in that amount of levels you will get one Spotlight Cache and eleven Collectors Reserves. HOWEVER you should be saving any Reserves you earn now as the update isn't live (I think it is going to go into effect next season but not 100% sure.)

The reason is that when the update happens, you start earning Spotlight Caches based on your "first available" Reserve. So if you don't have any saved, you need to earn the full 120 CL, but if you have 12 Reserves saved by the time the update happens, one will transform into a Cache with the rollout and you can open right away.

The Caches will feature the new card each week, plus two featured series 4/5 cards and one random series 4/5 card. so all you have to do is save your Collectors Reserves for now and wait for a week with cards you want.

The fury change is good and fun! I replaced white queen with him in my Dino deck. I also just lost a game to a bounce collector deck who played a fury generated galactus on turn 6. Probably the first time I wasn't annoyed to lose to galactus.

Something weird just happened with me with the pig. I had a game with Elysium and Titan. I also had quinjet on the board. This made the 6 cost cards generated by Fury cost only 3. However the magneto I got from Fury was hit by Ham and became a 1 cost 12 power pig. I'm not really sure how that happened or if it's supposed to happen but I was happy to play it with 2 other cards on turn 6.

"Doom's tougher than a Doombot." - A well deserved nerf to Doom but I only run him in my Patriot deck, so no, he's still not.

I run Fury in my Devil Dino deck as a fallback, so I look forward to getting more options out of him.

I use Doom a lot but… yeah he probably did deserve it.

Doom deserved it! Red Skull and Nick Fury buffs are fine but I'm most stoked about Nimrod. My Move Nimrod deck is going to kill it!

SwolySpirit, in Conquest mode thoughts?
SwolySpirit avatar

I’ve been enjoying it so far! The proving grounds is the unofficial “unranked mode” SNAP has sorely needed- with additional conquest only rewards to be won or ground out. Only issue I’ve run into is it’s ladder 2.0 as far as decks I’ve been facing- Evo Lockjaw’s every game all day- which is to be expected I suppose.

So far he hasn't seemed as bad as I was worried he would be, agree with kvn above he feels about as disruptive as say a Iceman hitting an unlucky card.

LennethAegis,
LennethAegis avatar

I agree with this. Having a random card get pigged will either be completely ignorable or absolutely devastating to your strategy. All low power 5/6 energy cards will fear the pig. While cards like Infinaut, Giganto, Destroyer, Doc Ock, Red Skull will thank you.

Yeah I almost wonder if this is the answer to GalactiKnull we need lmao!

LennethAegis,

Honestly just play spider-ham on turn 5 and you will likely force a retreat unless you are really behind. It should not be hard to figure out what kind of deck you opponent has and what turn 6 card to expect by then.

Cards like Odin, Knull/Arnim/Death, Taskmaster, Hela, Heimdall are fairly predictable by their decks.

I have not played the game yet but this is the card I am most concerned on how it would affect the meta. Are 6 cost cards just dead? Is Death gonna see resurgence? or is Spider-Ham just gonna be an overhyped card?
Either way, I think it's a good move to release it at Series 4. If it turns out to be a meta/meta-warping card, most players should be able to afford it.

snailwizard,
snailwizard avatar

I don’t think 6-cost is dead. Hulk, Heimdall, Orka, Agatha, Destroyer, Giganto, and Infinaut are all arguably benefitted from pigging out. Death seems like a good absorber option but a liability if you intend to actually play her. Also maybe Wave could be a side counter but ???

snailwizard, in Weekly Card Release Discussion 6/19: Spider-Ham
snailwizard avatar

Personally, I think this card could be a really effective disruptive tool. A good upgrade (or sidegrade) to Iceman, obvious synergy with Moon Girl, would likely be a terror in a Bounce deck. Infinaut could see a resurgence since it would remove his T5 restriction. I just don’t know if I should buy this one or wait for Spidey 2099 next week tho…

kvn,

I think ham will be about as useful as iceman. A good 1 cost to throw in any disruptive deck. I was also debating on ham vs spidey 2900 but I think I'll get ham since I don't play move decks very often. Right now I'm a few hundred tokens short so I have a few days to see ham in action before i decide.

Also I would assume ham would just keep targeting the pig in your opponents hand if you use it multiple times since the pig is likely to remain the highest cost card. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm not sure that using ham in bounce or with moon girl is as good as you're suggesting.

snailwizard,
snailwizard avatar

I was thinking about that too, but I’m sure there are plenty of cases where it would be a good play- early, then late-game disrupt; could have synergy with Doc Ock; screwing over Apocalypse; would be a terror for bounce, Cerebro, and any other deck with a lot of similarly-costing cards.

Honestly I don’t really play move either but if Ham isn’t quite worth it I might start haha.
