The @nfl group is I think the biggest of all the Mastodon groups. Best ask there.
Tip for using busy groups: follow it, add to a list, set the list to "hide from home timeline". Posts on that list then only appear in the list, creating a nice separation from you main timeline.
Hopefully we'll be able to add hashtags to lists too one day, but not possible at the moment.
It's hard to believe that we had to debate whether to create the @nfl group - and it's worked better than I expected.
Apart from the NFL group and hashtag I still get most of my content from the https://www.sportsbots.xyz/ mirrors - although they don't seem to work for accounts I started to follow in, say, the last 6 months. I don't know why.
NFL game days have been really busy.
It's like Excel here - you only seem to learn new tricks off other people.
