It's so relaxing to bike in the , because, on busy roads, bike traffic is separated, and on city streets I can trust that people who drive are alert and follow the rules (look up presumed liability).

In the US, I wonder if I should make a version of this video for myself in the cities I bike in.

I love getting places by : the air, the beauty, using my body to move, interesting things all around me.

Be well & fijne dag

@CathyTuttle what is it about traffic engineering in NL that gives them a mandate to make crosswalks with one isolated car lane in each direction? The double/quadruple threat crosswalk is such an obviously flawed design, but all kinds of bonkers stuff like this is considered "best practice" here, and there's no money even for all of the flashing beacons or whatever slow plan they're trying to eventually fund 💸

@enobacon The Dutch are just practical people who realize it is counterproductive to give more space to cars when the goal is to efficiently move people around. Their transportation system, and culture, strives to be logical.

Go fast in cars in some places, slow in others. Choose a bike or a train ride when practical, have good roads for cars available when it is not. Refreshing!
