Worst standard keyboard key?

They're all losers for impressively different reasons IMO. Capslock is persistent, easy to hit on accident, and a favorite of my cats.

Insert is infuriating and I've absolutely never wanted it.

Context Menu is largely useless and I imagine most people don't even know that's what the button is.

Num Lock is a rare offender, but if you try to input unicode Alt codes it is fucking INFURIATINBG SFBFDBTFG BITCH GARBAGE AAAAAAAAAAAAA

@SirTapTap I love function lock. Why is it a button at all?

@Craigp oh my new 65% keyboard has that and slightly complicated (and not indicated) methods of using the "extra" keys. Annoying but mostly unused. I wonder if there's a way to disable Fn lock, must be

@SirTapTap Back before combo keys were a thing, function lock was how you accessed shit like "undo".

But NOBODY has used F2 as undo since LAST CENTURY. Stop with the function lock!

@Craigp huh I had no idea that's what F2 can do. aside from F11 and 12 I pretty much only use them in video games for quick save/load or F5

@SirTapTap Those are all software responses bound to F5 or F9 or whatever. The function lock theoretically changes those to explicit requests for undo, close, reply, etc.

@SirTapTap What, no Windows key?

SirTapTap,

@hamato incredibly useful key if you know the shortcuts. Unless you're on linux I guess but easy enough to get a keycap to swap the look. I don't think I've hit it on accident in years either

@SirTapTap Yes, but also incredibly annoying while gaming, which is Windows' only purpose in my house. I threw it out as a daily driver in 2001, switching to Linux (Mandrake, Mandriva, Ubuntu, now Mint).

Actually I don't have much emotion left concerning operating systems. (Yes, that used to be way different. 🙈) Nowadays it's macOS as a daily driver to get shit done without having to fuzz around, Linux to geek out and run my infrastructure, and Windows for gaming.
