You need to read this article by @TexasObserver to understand the gravity of this case. This is a situation where a few rogue white guys decide they want to "lock her up" and literally throw their political opponents in jail. Regular courts call foul, but the Fifth Circuit says it sounds just fine. It's now going to the US Supreme Court, months before an election that could put Donald Trump back in the presidency. Truly bad news.
to be clear, I mention Trump because Biden has not shown as much proclivity to lock up his opponents. Contrary to the right-wing talking points, there has been no serious evidence showing administrative manipulation of the indictments of Trump or the Jan 6 defendants. But having a "lock her up" precedent on the books is bad regardless. No political leader deserves or needs that amount of power.
