The "this is not the right place to protest about that" energy being used to shut down conversation about Palestinians reminds me a lot of the way many people reacted to football players taking a knee for black lives matter.
It is basically the model of a shitty large corporate customer helpline that solves most problems by telling people they are in the wrong place to actually deal with a problem and then making it so annoying to get to the "right place" that people just give up.
