Too funny.. the “Top Read” articles on English #Wikipedia yesterday **are all about the #SuperBowl ** ! You have to go all the way down to # 16 to find a non-Super Bowl article (the Kenyan runner who died)… and then Super Bowl articles continue after that.
Predictably the top page is Usher, which you can see as “so who is this guy doing the halftime show?” 🤣
And then people wanting to learn more about the celebrities hanging out with Taylor Swift 😃
I honestly learned yesterday that Super Bowl is something about American football. Prior to that I knew it was related to some sport thing, but never tried to find more details.
@vv221 Fascinating! Living where I do in the USA, the Super Bowl is inescapable. It is everywhere and on everything. So even if you aren’t a (American) football fan, you can’t escape hearing about it. (Particularly this year with Taylor Swift connected to it)
@danyork editors struggle with this as you probably know. An item that took weeks of work on something important gets 500 readers. And a puff piece on a celebrity’s new shoes 200,000.
