Too much to do? Solo dance party! (lemmy.world)
I will legitimately dance around instead of doing stuff. It happened yesterday, and it will happen again today. Day 5 of laundry not being folded, and it’s almost Thanksgiving. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I'm either in hyperfocus or I forget... anyone else? (lemmy.world)
I don’t think I’m the only one judging by this article:...

The Lost Girls: ‘Chaotic and curious, women with ADHD all have missed red flags that haunt us’ (great article) (www.theguardian.com)
Are your goals too high? When you explained your job to me…” the psychologist trailed off. I knew where this was going. I was here after six visits to the GP in two years, all for unexplained exhaustion. Burnout, I guessed. Whatever that means....
Literally me this morning (lemmy.world)
I hadn’t taken my meds yet, and it was generally a foggy brain morning. I was already trying to decide what to do with the day when my husband asked....
It's a party (lemmy.world)
What's a masking strategy you have that drains you the most? (lemmy.world)
For me, it’s definitely trying to keep from moving too much/fidgeting. In my job, I have to sit still in front of another person for hours at a time, and I have to do my best to be grounded and present....
Here to help engagement with a lil game (lemmy.one)
My game after diagnosis, is how many I can not cross off to win my bingos.
I love this community and don't want it to die out. What can we do to raise engagement? What content do you want to see?
I was browsing my list of communities and realized I haven’t heard anything from this one for a while. I really treasure hearing from other women with ADHD and knowing I am not alone....
What is your skincare routine like?
I have terrible skin and have always wanted to follow a basic skincare routine, but thanks to ADHD I am lucky if I remember to even splash water on my face in the morning. Usually I will buy a product, use it a few times, then get bored of it and forget it exists. So I’m curious, what are your skincare routines like? How did...
[Support] I need help with ordering activities
Hi, I’m in a classic college crunch, even though I’m fucking 32 and getting my master’s. I have a paper due yesterday and no extension, but I’m hoping they don’t check the mailbox until Monday....
I'm feeling a lot of shame right now.
I could use some advice or support....
Im official
I was so worried about the test showing that I wasn’t ADHD but instead a lazy pos. Turns out I do have ADHD and my mom was right. Owe her an apology and working on the best way to do that (I’m thinking a coffee date)...
Is it just me? Seemingly an amnesiac at the dr's office

Anyone have experience with the ToVA
My pysch wants me to get a tova and liver blood work done before prescribing stimulants. I have never done the ToVA it seems like a relatively short test. A cursory search so it’s accuracy is below 90% which worries me. What worries me even more is what if it shows I don’t have ADHD and I am secretly just a terrible lazy...
Trouble getting back to people when it comes to texting and calls
My partner of one year has not been satisfied with our communication while away from each other. He’d like to know what I’m up to when not at work, and while I would rather have more sporadic catch-ups (say 2/3 times a day) I try to keep to his preferred frequency which usually ends up being once every two hours at minimum,...
ADHD and Periods
Does anyone find that they have an especially difficult period, mentally and emotionally compared to neurotypical women you know? Have you found anything that helps? Have you noticed a difference medicated for ADHD vs not medicated?
When I am pressed to do something important, I invariably must start a new task that will take all of my energy.
Current example: I’m tidying my home for a sleepover guest and my dining table has all of the hand tools from the garage and wherever else I had tucked them away. I’m cleaning them, removing rust, oiling them to prevent future rusting, and organizing them. They weren’t on the table two days ago, but IT HAD TO BE DONE....
Anyone else unable to listen to music with lyrics?
Every time a song goes on, I can’t focus on anything else because I feel the lyrics going into my brain and replacing my thoughts with other words. Especially if I’m trying to do homework or coding. So because of this, I only listen to classical music or the instrumental tracks of modern songs I do like. My sister thinks...
Weird thing I do to keep from burning my house down.
When I am cooking, I have trained myself to set a timer for 10 minutes....
What are your "favorite" chores and how did you make them ADHD-friendly?
I’ll start! I invested in a cordless vacuum, primarily because it came with a pet hair accessory but turns out, I love to use it for a quick dopamine hit! Getting a room or two to look clean-ish without the commitment of finding an outlet and dragging a chunky vaccum across the room is a massive help!
