I got mine on release day and I’m at 98% and I don’t ever take my battery or it’s life into consideration.
I almost exclusively charge via Qi or MagSafe, I leave it on the charger for long periods of time, and I alternate between saying between 90-100% all day and occasionally running it down to 10-20% 1-2 times a week.
Obviously I could be an outlier but finding a handful of people online claiming something is a terrible basis for an article like this.
I’m at the exact same percentage. Spent a month in a hot area, jumped to iOS 17 developer beta from the start. But not a heavy user, I charge from 40-80%
Downloaded CoconutBattery (mentioned in TFA) and confirmed I barely leave home. Had my M1 MBP since release and it’s at 49 charge cycles. My iPhone 14 Pro was also new at release and is at only 243 charge cycles. Luckily, my battery in that device is at 98%, so I’m doing ok.
That’s pretty bad. My 12 Pro that I got shortly after the release is at 82%. I know the aging isn’t linear, but at 1035 cycles I’d say that’s pretty good…
Also 12 pro from November 2020, currently at 88% after around 615 cycles. Although saw rapid drop off initially, has been stuck at around 88% for around a year.
My wife’s regular iPhone 12 also from November 2020, is at 84% after 800 cycles.
