I'm curious - Do you folks like weight on your body (people, animals, weighted blankets on top of you)

a_mac_and_con, I have a problem sleeping without something heavier on me. Which sucks in the summer. I’ve wished forever to be able to sleep with at the least a sheet, but it’s not enough.
Asenath, Same. Pile on the comforters, then crank up the air conditioner and the fan.
fax_of_the_shadow, I can't sleep without my weighted blanket. Even in summer. We just compensate by having a large fan blowing directly onto the bed for me.
Gareth, Love it, but I overheat really easy, so it's hard to get right...
Bear, Yes! I love feeling pressure on my body - ironically not at all from a partner. I love winter because I get to sleep with two heavy blankets, my cat is especially cuddly and she sleeps on me all night, and I get to wear layers of baggy, comfortable clothing at home. I dread the summer time because that all goes away.
FollyDolly, I like having extra blankets on the bed, but I can't stand weighted blankets. I tried my friends weighted blanket and I was like, get my out of this thing! It was too heavy, felt like I was being smothered.
ratboy, Same, I really hate it. It's like a low-key panic feeling for me when I try to move around beneath it
musicalcactus, I tried a weighted blanket once and never stopped. I had to travel for work and told myself it was silly to bring it, but then had a hard time sleeping without it. I added makeshift weight to my bedding - all the hotel towels, extra blanket, fake couch rug thing, and vowed I'd just travel with heavy luggage from now on.
n_to, I'm writing this from under a weighted blanked and I like it here :3
(It is a bit weird when you want to turn around in your sleep, but it calms me down a lot and helps me to have deeper sleep)
UnicornKitty, I tried a weighted blanket and it was too much upkeep for me. It also didn't noticeably help.
Mint, I've tried a weighted blanket that my friend has for anxiety - and it was too much for me, I almost throughout the year just have the cover without the duvet itself, just so I have some kind of cover.
It doesn't also help that I sweat abnormally so I have to be careful to end up into a puddle in my sleep
levo, Well I certainly wont turn my cat away but I can't sleep either way.
LilBagOfBunnies, It depends! Pressure can feel comforting to me depending on the context; I love when my cat is laying on me, or cuddling up with my partner. But when it comes to sleeping, I don't really like pressure on me, just feels too restrictive.
whinestone_cowboy, I do everything with my weighted blanket. It’s constantly on me.
ReallyKinda, I feel like mine has been bothering my back lately, might be a change in activity level though. I do find the weight comforting and think it helps me sleep deeper.
techno156, You can link a regular poll if you prefer one of those.
Personally, I like the coziness, but not so much the heat/restrictiveness. So more the idea of the blanket than the actual blanket.
MrTulip, Yes. We have a waited blanket. I love it, but it caused my partner joint pain. We compromise with the heaviest comforter we can find in the winter.
In the summer, I'll sometimes stack a few pillows on myself (we have a bunch) to get some weight on me, while still allowing some airflow.
faiora, It’s actually much more comfortable for two people in one bed to have separate blankets. :) might be worth trying two twin blankets. Then your partner could have what they prefer and you could have weighted.
glasslyrata, I am continuously surprised that some people sleep under a single blanket. This is not a custom where I'm from. I wouldn't be able to relax!
neomachino, My wife and I started sleeping with separate blankets a while ago. I like to sleep with 2 heavy comforters even in the summer but my wife gets hot while she sleeps. A lot of the times we end up sharing a single blanket by morning but I don't think I could fall asleep like that.
Also I just realized while typing this that I do like weight on my body!
